Adelina and Royce made their way to Diagon Alley, Royce still holding her hand.

I hope my hand doesn't get sweaty, it is sort of hot out...

As they entered Diagon Alley, Royce looked around and saw that the streets were packed full of students. Boys and girls of every house were dodging in and out of the various shops and stalls. He hoped nobody would accidentally bump into Adelina and put pressure on her previously injured leg.

"Sheesh, I guess everyone is skipping class today." Royce noted, looking at Adelina, who seemed a bit nervous.

He watched as her eyes darted back and forth between all the students. Royce figured she was just nervous that somebody that had seen her fall at the Quidditch field would see her there. He stood on his tip-toes, looking for the dress shop. Being tall definitely gave him an advantage, he looked down at Adelina and chuckled to himself.

Poor girl probably can't see a thing with all these people around...

Occ; OHHH. Since Adelina and Preston used to have a little spark,
i was thinking of having Preston come in the shoppe with some other chick
to spark some oh so loved jealousy? x)

Adelina looked at all the students.
WOW. Practically all of Hogwarts is here.
And she was going to buy a dress.
With Royce as her...date?
Ahhh this is complicated already.
I must talk to Freddie later.
"I think it's over there!" She pointed to a lavish looking shop at the end of the street.
Suprisingly she had been there many times, important family events and such.

ooc; Go for it Preston, I dont know whether she would be jealous. Maybe, slightly embaressed about trying dresses on when Preston is there.

"I think it's over there!" Adelina pointed to a lavish looking shop at the end of the street.

"Perfect." Royce said, then he pushed him and himself through the crowd of students.

They entered the dress shop and found that, like outside, it was filled with students. Although, not as crowded, Royce began to feel a bit nervous. He had never been to a ball before and was sure what he was to do. Sure, he had been to plenty of school dances back before he attended Hogwarts, but this was different, this was a wizard's ball and he wasn't sure what to expect.

Girls in fancy dresses stood in front of tall mirrors and Royce watched as some of them nodded in a approval and others scrunched their faces showing no support for the dress they had chosen. Only a few guys were in the shop, and most of them had found themselves a spot on the cushioned bench that lined the back wall. All of them waiting quite impatiently for their dates to finish.

"So, where should we start?" Royce said looking at Adelina.

He had let go of her hand now, and was running it along one of the steel bars that held a few yellow gowns. He looked at Adelina and then back at the dresses.

She'd make any of these dresses look good...

"So, where should we start?" He asked, running his fingers along a rack of yellow dresses.
She chuckled, oh he has no idea what he is doing, bless.
"Why don't you just sit down for a minute while I pick out a few, and then you can tell me your favourite"
She replied cooly, pushing him gently backwards on to the bench.

She searched a few of the racks, picking out a few dresses, before dissappearing behind a red silk curtain.
A few moments later, Adelina emerged shyly, wearing a floor length dark pink dress.

"What do you think?" She asked nervously, she was aware of the other girls staring at it.
What they were thinking she didn't know.
Again, her cheeks began to blush.
Get a grip Adelina!

"Why don't you just sit down for a minute while I pick out a few, and then you can tell me your favourite" Adelina replied cooly, pushing him gently backwards on to the bench.

Royce sat and waited with the other guys that were sitting there, knowing that non of them had a date to the ball that were as beautiful as his own. The guys stared at him as he leaned forward, putting his elbows on his knees. He nodded at them and smiled.

Royce watched as Adelina picked out an armful of dresses and then disappeared behind a red curtain. He waited a couple of minutes and then she emerged wearing a dark pink dress that flattered her curves.

"What do you think?" She said shyly.

Royce watched as the other guys sitting around him looked towards Adelina as well.

Maybe I'm the lucky one...

Royce thought before saying, "I think you make that dress look amazing."

He smiled shyly at her and then looked over at the guys next to him that were still staring in awe.

"Hey, buddy, back off." Royce said nudging the guy net to him.

There was no stopping her cheeks blushing this time.
She stepped back behind the curtain.
"Hey, buddy, back off." She heard Royce say to the guy sitting next to him.
Adelina couldn't help chuckle.
Well if he thinks, that i'm buying the first dress I try on, he is definately mistaken.
Another minute or two passed, before once again, Adelina stepped out in another dress.

"Okay, so I really like this one, but I dunno, which do you prefer?" She asked him, a little more confident now.

Royce watched as Adelina slipped back behind the curtain without saying anything.

Wait, she is trying on another one?...

We leaned back against the wall now, folding his arms and letting out a small sigh. He watched as the other girls came in and out of their dressing rooms. Some in short dresses that fitted them extremely tight and others in gowns with enormous amounts of fabric, making them look like giants cakes. All of them though, had bright cheery looks on their faces as they twirled around in front of the mirror giving both them, and their dates a full look at the dress.

Finally Adelina stepped out of the dressing room, this time wearing a midnight blue dress that hugged her chest and flared around her thighs.

"Okay, so I really like this one, but I dunno, which do you prefer?" She asked him, sounding a little more confident now.

Royce looked her up and down, noting the difference between this one and the previous pink one she was wearing when she showed him the first time. He liked the way this one hugged her curves a bit more. Royce motioned for Adelina to turn around.

"Give it a twirl." he said smiling.

She slowly began to twirl, it swished slightly as she did.
She really liked it, but the last dress was a more georgous shade of blue than this one.
And wasn't blue the colour of ravenclaw?
Adelina was sure he'd like the last one the most, but still she waited for feedback.

Royce sat up and watched as Adelina shuffled her feet under the dress, twirling herself around.

"I never noticed how round your butt was before." Royce noted, then he quickly tried to cover himself, "Not that I look at it or anything like that...Just, erm." Royce trailed off and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, if I am going to give an educated suggestion, I will need to see them all." Royce smiled and leaned back against the wall again.

Now scoot your cute little butt back in there and show me more...

Adelina was still laughing as she re-entered the dressing room for the second time.
This she was sure was the dress.
"Now this is my favourite" She giggle before stepping out.

"Now this is my favourite" Adelina said with a giggle before stepping out.

Royce looked up from the floor that he had becoming seemingly interesting during his wait for her to come out from behind the dressing curtain. He feasted his eyes on Adelina, who looked more gorgeous in this dress than any other. The light blue tones brought out the deep brown in her hair a the fit of it flattered every inch of her body.

"I think I have found a favorite as well..." Royce said, still in awe. He stood up and walked over to where Adelina was standing. He lightly touched her shoulders and faced her to the mirror, where and image of them standing side by side was reflected.

"You make me look like a complete schmuck." Royce said, chuckling a bit.

Adelina sighed as he touched her shoulders. A pathetic response, but it was unavoidable.
"You make me look like a complete schmuck." Royce said, chuckling a bit.
"Oh don't worry, we'll take you to Marco's and get you sorted out" She winked at him when she said this.
Marco was an old family friend who specialised in male dress robes.
He was a genius and had fitted many of her Godfather's robes.
Adelina took one more glance in the mirror before hurrying to change back into her normal robes.

"Oh don't worry, we'll take you to Marco's and get you sorted out" Adelina winked at Royce and he smiled even bigger.

He had no idea who Marco was, but he didn't care. He wanted as much time with Adelina as he could get. Royce watched as Adelina moved away from him and slipped back into the dressing room.

"So, are we going to do that now? I am awful hungry, Ady." Royce said to her through the curtain, still looking at himself in the mirror.

He wondered if that nickname was alright and if she would eventually give him one. He thought of when they met and how little of time had gone by. Had it even been a day? Two days? Royce chuckled a bit to himself.

Oh Royce, you fall too quickly.

He heard a shuffle in the dressing room and looked over to see Adelina, poking her head out.

"So, are we going to do that now? I am awful hungry, Ady" Royce chuckled.
Adelina popped out from behind the curtain.
"We can go eat first if you want?" She replied.
She didn't mind, she was happy with whatever he said.
He'd called her Ady.
That was odd.
Usually on Freddie called her that.
Weird.
Either way, she liked it.
What could she call him?
Roy, Roycey...hmmm I'll have to work on it.
She went up to the till and paid for the dress.
Beaming now, she sauntered over to Royce and grabbed his hand.
"So, where to?" Her smile couldn't get any wider.
She was having an awesome day.

"We can go eat first if you want?" she said with her head poking out of the dressing room. Royce watched as she made her way to the counter and paid for her gown. As she was stuffing her wallet back into her pocket, Royce quickly went over to the counter, whispered to the clerk and placed a credit card on the counter. The woman behind the cash register smiled and slipped some coins on to the counter which Royce then descretely placed into Adelina's bag.

I'll be paying for that...

Adelina turned away from her pocket and looked at Royce.
"So, where to?" She smiled and grabbed his hand.

Royce felt himself blush a bit and quickly thought of an excuse.
"Well, let's just get outside first, it's bloody warm in here." Royce pretended to wipe sweat off his forehead, although there was none.

The exited the dress shop and Royce noticed that the streets were a bit clearer now. Had they really been inside there so long?

Ha! Adelina had managed to make Royce to blush for once, instead of the other way round.
This made her giggle, but as she made her way out into the street she noticed two familiar faces in the crowd.
It was raining slightly now, so Adelina cast a shielding charm around her and Royce.
Freddie's mother had taught her that in her second year.
Very useful indeed.

Adelina nodded towards Freddie and Liliane.
"Let's go say hi" She added nervously, she had no idea whether they were going to like each other.

Royce and Adelina emerged from the dress shop to find that is had started to rain.
Adelina cast a shielding charm around her and Royce.

Hmm, that's useful.

Adelina nodded towards two students that Royce didn't recognize.
"Let's go say hi" Adelina said, sounding nervous.

Royce was a bit confused as to why Adelina sounded so nervous, but he shrugged it off.

"Awesome." he said with a smile. Then he took her hand and began to walk towards them.

Royce was never afraid of meeting new people and he was far from shy. He looked forward to meeting the couple that stood only a few paces in front of them.

It took Liliane fifteen minutes to clean up after the incident with Icarus, but she was finally ready. Her hair was pulled in a quick, but elegant ponytail and she was wearing a plain black t-shirt with jeans. Ugh! It's raining here too, and I just put dry clothes on! Liliane cast a shield charm on her and Freddie.
Liliane and Freddie were walking along the streets toward the dress shop when Liliane spotted Adelina, Freddie's friend. Liliane didn't know much about Adelina except that she is Freddie's friend, a Slytherin, and plays Quidditch.
"Oh look there's Adelina! Let's go say hi," she whispered to Freddie as she grabbed his hand and gently pulled Freddie towards Adelina and a guy she didn't recognize.
Oh my. He's gorgeous.

Freddie loved Diagon Alley, he loved the shops, he loved how everyone skipped to go there and he loved how it was now pretty much empty due to the rain. Noticing a familiar face he smiled, so Adelina was skipping too.
And who was her accomplice?
A Ravenclaw?
Hmmm. Interesting.
He noticed her walking over to them, and smiled.
"Hey Ady, how are you this fine day?" He greeted her.
"Nice to see you're all better" Freddie wasn't really looking at Adelina, his eyes were locked on the Ravenclaw.

Adelina blushed slightly. She knew Freddie would be playing the big brother role and she didn't like it.
"Hey, yeah all fine, this is Royce by the way!" She replied, pointing to Royce.
"Royce this is Freddie and Liliane!" She introduced everyone.
Now all she could do was wait.

Liliane watched as Freddie simply stared at the handsome Ravenclaw.
While blushing, Adelina had introduced everyone. Oh she must be nervous.
"Hey Royce," Liliane grinned.
This is awkward. Freddie had this big-brother vibe flowing off him as he continued staring at the Ravenclaw.
Liliane decided she had to speak up, you know, break the awkward zone.
"Freddie and I were going to go shopping for a dress," Liliane said, "But I guess you already went shopping. Were the dresses any good there?" she asked Adelina.

"Hey Ady, how are you this fine day?" The Slytherin greeted Adelina, "Nice to see you're all better"

"Hey, yeah all fine, this is Royce by the way!" Adelina replied, pointing to Royce. "Royce this is Freddie and Liliane!" She introduced everyone.

"Nice to meet you Lilliane, Freddie." Royce smiled at them both and reached to shake Freddie's hand.

"Freddie and I were going to go shopping for a dress," Liliane said, "But I guess you already went shopping. Were the dresses any good there?" she asked Adelina.

Royce watched as the girls talked about the dresses and the upcoming Fools Ball. He looked at Freddie who had still not taken his eyes off him. He could tell Adelina was feeling nervous and gave her hand a quick squeeze.

"So Freddie," Royce said, trying to break the awkwardness of the moment, "you looking forward to the ball?"

It was a lame question, sure. Most of the guys weren't looking forward to the ball itself, only the after party. But he had to break the silence between them somehow, and at least it was on topic.

Freddie ignored the question yet looked amused.
Adelina chuckled awkwardly, Freddie was still staring at Royce.
"Yeah they are nice, i've just bought mine, I was just taking Royce to Marco's to get some new dress robes."
She smiled at Royce as she said this.
That's when Freddie raised on of his eyebrows in suprise.

Marco's wasn't any old robe fitter. He was very classy, very expensive and very pure slytherin.
And Adelina was taking Royce?
He seemed nice enough but he was a Ravenclaw.
Hmmm.
Freddie turned his head towards Adelina, "Why don't you go look at dresses with Liliane and i'll take Royce to Marco's?"
He suggested, clapping a ever so slightly hostile hand on Royce's shoulder.

Adelina looked at Freddie, slightly in shock. Half oh her wanted to say no, the other thought the big brother chat would happen whether she liked it or not.
Adelina looked uncertainly at Royce, could he handle it?
"Ummm it's really up to Royce, I mean I don't mind, what do you think?"

Freddie turned his head towards Adelina, "Why don't you go look at dresses with Liliane and i'll take Royce to Marco's?" He suggested, clapping a ever so slightly hostile hand on Royce's shoulder.

"Ummm it's really up to Royce, I mean I don't mind, what do you think?" Adelina said, looking at Royce again.

"Sounds great," Royce said with a smile, if this Freddie was so close to Adelina, he wanted to get to know him anyway. "I'll meet you back here in about an hour and a half? I'll treat us all to lunch." Royce smiled and kissed the top of Adelina's forehead, then turned towards Freddie.

"Lead the way." Royce gave him a smile.
