"Not to shabby, kid." Arden was back in her corner,
"Unfortunatley its not your age im interested in.
Tell us your gift." She tried to put it as gently as
she could. Arden did not want to seem like a cold,
minipulative person already. She lessened the tension
in her shoulders and let out a breath.

"Well, I can manipulate water," Bella replied. "It just kind of listens to what I say."

Arden chuckled to herself at the irony of what Bella had said.
"Same goes with me and humans." she whispered to herself.
unforgettable memories played like a flashback in her
head to make her spin. she placed one hand on her head.
Happy place, happy place. Arden chanted to no one.

Back to the real world. Arden got the impression that
this Bella's girls imagination had not been recovering as quickly
as hers. Right after leaving for Washington Arden got
abducted at union station. Before she could speak, they covered
her mouth with a wet rag. it was disgusting.

That was five months ago, and her memories came back
abruptly after leaving that hell hole. The span of how long
you've been contained in the 'government circus', she liked to
call it, seemed to effect how rapidly the memories of before
comming thier returned. That seemed to be the issue for poor
Bella Schmidt.

"Next." Arden conducted. "Red head."

Avis watched as people after people woke up. She beamed, thinking perhaps it was her proud scream that did the trick. Who knew she could scream so loudly? Obviously she didn’t. She was not the screaming type. Especially in the morning. Which reminds me, her own early morning laziness was wearing off now and boy was she happy about that. The sunny Avis found herself leaping about, helping pull people up to their feet. Hey, she used to be like them once.

Time to help the needy!

Just when everyone were up on their feet, chatting about, she heard someone order them to introduce themselves. Bossy? Very. But, for some reason, it worked. This girl hadn’t said a word of please or thank you, yet the girl she’d commanded so rudely to introduce herself did. Most people appeared to be listening too and the only ones not were the couple constantly talking. Avis was quite surprised at the girl’s leadership skills. Such a thing’s quite important in a group like this. Though her rudeness? Now that needed some fixing.

After ‘Bella Schmidt’ introduced herself, the girl pointed at her. “Avis,” she said, “Avis Opal and my power’s shapeshifting. I can change form into any animal.” She smiled, “What about yourself?” She raised an eyebrow, curious.

Arden lips twitched into a smile. This is a smart girl.
She's aware of her suroundings, notices things.
She already picked up on my gift. Arden was already
impressed with Avis' sensitivity to ones around her.

Arden ran her hand through her head, shaking it to give her
hair some volume. She fixed her eyes on the finely shaped
girl, with a sense of flair in her attitude. She had animal
attributes all over her. Hands and feet looked like they've
been running, which they were doing. Strangely, her hands
and paws, i mean, feet both looked worn down. She
shapeshifted while running. Arden realized. Wolf maybe?
She's also used to the conditions they were living in ..
Arden found this girl extremely interesting.

"Shapeshifting." Arden spoke, obviously not hiding her
impression. "That could be useful ..." She wasnt stunned
when the girl bluntly asked for information on her powers.
Faces who were not paying much attention to the presentation
quickly turned to face the two. They were clearly interested
to hear her answer.

"Im the reason why things are going so smoothly. Well, my
powers at least." Arden paused to peer at the questioned faces.
She started to tap her over grown nails on the hard cement that they
were sleeping on before. "You've seemed to already guessed it.
Why dont you share it to the crowd, Avis?" Arden gave her a choice.

I know this is WAYYY late and short. I am extremely sorry about that…but, hey, better this than nothing. Right?]

Shapeshifting could be useful.

Avis found herself smiling when she heard that. She always did whenever she heard complements. They just raised her spirit and confidence. Plus, she didn’t hear this particular complement too much. Most people’s reaction would be more along the lines of them asking how she could possibly attack with her powers. Then when she talked about scratching, poisoning, spitting and just flying away, the nice people smile while the occasional rude ones ask her what good that could do. Either that or go on gloating about their own power. She, however, had done none of that which let Avis into questioning her rudeness. Before now, she didn’t think this girl was the complementing type.

Then, in answer to her question, the girl responded with an [/I] "I’m the reason why things are going so smoothly. Well, my powers at least." [/I] Ah, so was she correct? She didn’t have much time to think before the girl asked her to explain the girl’s powers. Avis was suddenly aware of all eyes on her which made things a tad bit uncomfortable. But she blinked it off. Although there was still a faint pang of nervousness in the pit of her stomach, she ignored it completely and went on in guessing the girl’s powers based on her observation. “I think,” she began, “You might have the power of persuasion. You can persuade and get people to do what you would like.” She paused. “Correct?”

Arden's icy blue eyes fogged up a bit. Caroline ...
"I’m against commanding any soul to do what id like." She snapped suddenly,
irritated by what atrocious memory she had tried to forget
for so long. She forced her balled up fist to unclench. Arden looked away, ashamed
and avoiding any unwanted curious glances.

She peered out the one window in the room with an emotionless face.
Something, something bizarre, caught Arden’s stare as she sat looking
at the pitter patter of the rain. I swore I saw something. She thought but
then dismissed the thought. Continuing with story time.

After the short moment of vulnerability, she was back to her impassive self.
A lifeless smile crossed her chapped lips. Arden shifted her position, sitting
with her arms wounded together. Its getting a bit chilly. Taking another quick
glance at the endless dark rain.

“Now its your turn. Girl with the pixie cut.” She was careful not to command
her to speak, but only to point her out. Arden waited half-patiently as the girl
would soon stand up against the pale gray of the rotted wood wall.
