Valora opened the door to her room. A small black haired girl sat on the bed on the opposite side with her nose in a book. Valora stared at her with menacing eyes, the girl looked up.
"Name yourself." Valora said, her hands on her hips.
"Jordan." said the girl with a smile.
"I can deal with that," said Valora "but save the smiles for someone that cares."
Jordan scowled and put her nose back in her book.
She sat down on her bed and started to unpack her things. The last thing to take out was Leroy, her stuffed dog. She gave him a quick kiss and peeked over at Jordan to make sure she hadn't seen, then placed him on the end of her bed, giving him a final pat. She glanced around.
I can't believe Vesteria made me come here, again. What a horrid place, it just gets worse and worse every year! Is that a cobweb in the corner? God forbid there's a spider in it... she thought. She laid down and thought of her grandmother's warm house with her luxurious king sized bed and fluffy pillows, "This place is a dump." she said aloud. Jordan paid no attention, and kept her eyes on her page. "And you, well, your just the most pathetic excuse of a roommate I have ever had."
