Jamie stood in the entrance hall, practicing her guitar. She was tuning it, because this was pretty much the first time performing in front of people. She looked through her music one last time trying to not phych her self out before she goes on. Jamie let out a deep sigh as she grabbed her guitar and the stool she was planning to sit on. Jamie made her way to where the band was playing the conductor nodded to her as the band stopped playing and left. Jamie the stool down and faced everyone speaking into the microphone "Hello, my name is Jamie, i will be playing and singing 2 songs for you. The first will be Wish you were and the second will be you were meant for me. I hope you enjoy." Jamie said smiling turning kinda red.

Preston had been busy the past few weeks. And no, it wasnt because he
had to go tuxedo shopping or find his date a corshage that matches her
dress. Truthfully, He didnt even ask anyone to the Fool's Ball. No-one in
Howarts captivated him yet. Maybe its just because he hasnt been out that
much lately. Scheming takes time you know.

He strutted casually into the Great Hall with no spoiled brat clinging to his
arm like that year. Preston's arms were in his pants pockets. His outfit was
professionally put together by his crazy mother who insisted he attend
this rediculous shindig. He ran his hand through his hand, making sure
he removed the last remains of his past experiment over the last week.

Everyone was dressed elegantly. Students were linked in arms and there
were a few spotted forced smiles that he found. Preston couldnt help chuckling
to himself. they're so whipped. A voice magically altered to make it sound
louder echoed throughout the buzzing hallway.

"Hello, my name is Jamie, i will be playing and singing two songs for you.
THe first will be Wish you Were and the second will be You were Meant for Me."
a chiming voice boomed. A brilliant smiled appeared fromt he performers face.
Preston had to admit to himself. This girl isnt half that bad.

Jamie took a deep breath as she sat on the stool and started to play her guitar, after a couple notes she started to sing "

Alice clapped loudly for her friend. Jamie had a beautiful voice! After she sang her second song, Alice would go talk to her.
She spotted Preston in the crowd and went to greet him. "Hello," she smiled. "Jamie sure has a beautiful voice, doesn't she?"

Jamie took another deep breath "Oh i'm gonna do this song acapella with out accompaniment" she said as she put her guitar down. Still sitting on the stool. "If you want i will take any request of songs. I think it will be okay to do one more for you guys" she added looking over to the conductor who gave her a thumbs up. She took another deep breath and started singing again, "

Jamie sighed in relief. She did way better than she thought. Her face was still red. "If you have any request say now".

Caleb spotted Preston in the crowd. Wait, what? Caleb could think billions of other things Preston would rather do than be at a ball. How very unlike him.

"Hey man." Caleb said, slapping his mate on the back. "Why are you here?"

Aurelius weaved in and out, through the throngs of people listening to the singer and bopping along to her harmonies. Obviously it was a female singer. Aurelius didn't know a man who could sing as tunefully as that.

He made his way up front, and watched the girl. Pretty dress, pretty voice, talented. Hmm. Interesting.

Leonora was at the very front of the crowd, watching her friend Jamie. She had had no idea how lovely Jamie's voice was. She smiled at Jamie, trying tolet her know that there was a friendly face waiting, and she wasn't to be nervous. Comforting or not, Leo had tried her best.

Alice greeted Leonara. "You're Leonara Bonaventura from Ravenclaw house, right? I'm Alice. I've heard about you from Jamie, it's nice to meet you," she said smiling.

"Alice! Its been too long." He gave her an innocent impish grin.
His eyes lingered on whats her name. Jamie. He noted as Alice mentioned
her name. "A trillion times better then the Fat Lady." He jested kindly.
Preston tried his best to tone down his sarcasm. They're last incounter wasnt
that much on a friendly tone.

His attention was stolen by his close friend Caleb.
"I shouldve known you'd be trailing along." Preston smirked at his friend.
"Im here because my mother would cast curses and jinxes all over my
room before summer visit if i dont." crazy old toad. but i cant blame her.
she has nothing else better to do.

"How is the lovely couple? Keeping the fire burning?"
Just then Preston spotted a another friends of his. Feels like i havnt seen
them in ages. "Aurelius!" He beckoned him over.
Aurelius is not too bad for a Slytherin. Usually he doesnt collaberate much with
them.

A gryffindor/slytherin friendship was always a weird one, but Aurelius could help but have the feeling that if Preston tried, he could accomplish a lot. Freddie moved towards Aurelius he was listening to Jamie singing as were quite a few people.
She was a very talented singer and guitar player.
Unique.
"Hey Aurelius, you showed then?" He grinned.
He noticed Preston was also there, he nodded his head slightly in way of greeting him.
There was a another Gryffindor boy and a Hufflepuff girl.
"Have we met?" He asked, smiling slightly.

"I've been here for quite a while, thank you." Aurelius said, sarcastically. He knew Freddie was taking the so-called mickey, but he didn't really care.
"Where have you been, how's your night been going, and who have you danced with so far?"
Aurelius laughed. Freddie was really social person - much to Aurel's dismay, of course - but at least it gave them something to talk about.
"Ah, of course, you haven't met this lot. Well there's Preston, Caleb, " - he said, gesturing to the boys - "and the female additions, Alice and Leonora. I hope you've caught up now." Aurelius concluded, grinning.

Jamie smiled and said "Thankyou everyone" as she put back the stool picking up her guitar leaving. She was bright read. As she saw Leonara and Alice. She ran towards them saying "Hey guys." out of breath.

Alice poked Preston. "Ask her to dance you moron. I know you like her," she whispered.
Now she looked at Jamie. "You were wonderful! You have such a beautiful voice Jamie! We should so do a duet."

Leonora hugged Jamie immediately, after her departure from the stage.

"Well I danced with Lucille a bit before, but that's it. Liliane isn't even here yet!" Freddie shrugged.
He didn't care much anymore.
"Nice" he replied as Aurel introduced each.
He knew of three of them due to their meetings with Adelina.
He looked up to see Jamie leaving the stage.
"You're a very talented singer and musician" he complimented offering her a drink of butterbeer.

Preston returned a head-nod to Freddie. They dont speak to each other very often.
"I heard that." Preston heard Caleb mubble. he had a glint of mischief in his eyes.
"And you're partially wrong. My date was busy up on stage."
He put his arm around jamie. Time to wing it.
"Hi. Im Preston. Be my date tonight?" He asked her with an alluring voice, also
beaming a smile. that mightve been overkill. Who knows.

"Well, that's the least successful night you've ever had, when it comes to the ladies... what went wrong?"
Aurelius smirked.
No matter how bad it was, it was kind of a comfort to Aurel, since he hadn't danced with anyone yet. He didn't even have a date.

Caleb laughed and rolled his eyes at Preston's lame, but funny attempt.
"Trying to pull a fast one on your best friend doesn't work. Asking out Jamie doesn't work... you might be on an unlucky streak." Caleb joked, winking.

Maybe he should go back over and talk to Shina & Lottie, they at least had no morals.

There were some nice looking girls, nothing exceptional, but nice.

Leonora nodded at Jamie subtly. She liked Preston, and she thought he'd be quite nice for Jamie.
She looked at Alice, an expression that clearly shouted 'Don't. Push. It.'

"Nah, they're all... well, it's not that there's no one that's caught my eye. But I just dunno how to approach them. I mean, changing a frog into a chair is easy but this... this takes real guts."
He stole a few glances around the room, and laughed. Nervously, but he still laughed.

Preston shot a grimance at Caleb. He continues trying to woo her.
He knew what girls wanted. Attention, Things, or just someone by thier
side. He's figured this out the past year. Jamie cant be any different?

"You did great on stage by the way." He pulled his wand out and conjured her
a boquet of pink and white lilies. "For you."
